We got a great deal on ski lift tickets at Buck hill today. Ski for $13 from 10 am to 2pm. At 32*F it seemed like the perfect day to go downhill skiing!
I'm definitely a lot more cautions then I use to be out on the slopes. It has more to do with fear of falling and breaking something.
While Steve comes bombing down the hills.. I take them nice and slow. I always forget how to downhill ski. It takes me a few times down the hill to get the hang of it again. If I think about turning too much, I just can't do it and panic. If I don't think too much and just relax I do just fine.
We both had never considered skiing at Buckhill because it's a hill..and not very long runs. This was a great place to get back into skiing and warm up before we tackle more hills. At least for me it was a much needed re-train myself ski place. I'm still rusty.. moving slowly down the hill but we have fun. I figured we burned about 400+ calories and it felt good to get out and enjoy Monday!
The best part about going on a Monday, not too many people and zero wait for the chair lifts.
I really hate it when people go whizzing by me crazy fast. I'm sure they hate people like me.. slow... slow.. slow..
Now to warm up with some hot chocolate.. I still am going cross country skiing or maybe I should just run indoors to warm up.. I'm soo undecided but I must do something other then nap.
